home > theme: alien conquest
Find the best deals and biggest bargains for ALIEN CONQUEST LEGO right here. Lego discounts are updated regularly throughout day.
Alien Conquest was an iteration of the Lego Space theme released in 2011. It was unusual in that the action took place on Earth rather than in space and had a relatively contempoarary rather than futuristic setting. The two factions portrayed in the theme are the ADU, Earth's Alien Defence Unit, protecting us from the invasion from some old school green aliens
The theme was notable for having two very distinct aethetics. The ADU vehicles are chunky and angular, in some ways influenced by both Classic Space and modern interpretations of the early space theme (know as Neo-Classic Space). This extends to the blue coloring of their vehicles and uniforms. The alien ships however are heavily influenced by classic "flying saucer" imagery from films of the 50s and 60s. Round ships with some interesting curved pieces and predominatly green and gray colouring.
Significant sets include 7051 Tripod Invader, a really original and unusual set that was very popular. The big Alien Mothership 7065 and the incredible Earth Defence HQ 7066. The Earth Defence HQ is a big complete vehicle absolutely packed with features and minimal amount of big parts. It's regarded by many as on of the best Lego sets in the last few years, and by some as one of the best sets ever.
